Jones Announces Funding for Elizabethtown Water Improvements
October 21, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Tom Jones (R-Lancaster/Lebanon) today announced that the Elizabethtown Area Water Authority received a $6.2 million low-interest loan through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).
The funding will be used on a project that includes the construction of a 35-by-45-foot well station building, nitrate removal treatment system, a corrosion control chemical feed system, a sodium hypochlorite disinfection system and replacement of an existing well pump. Additionally, backwash pumping equipment will be replaced, and new piping and an emergency generator will be installed.
“Families deserve to know they can count on safe, reliable drinking water every time they turn on the tap. This investment will help the Elizabethtown Area Water Authority make important upgrades to the system that serves our community. Maintaining reliable water infrastructure is essential to ensuring Elizabethtown remains a great place to live, work and raise a family,” Jones said. “I’m pleased to see these dollars coming back to support a project that will have a direct impact on our community.”
PENNVEST is an independent state agency that provides financial assistance for sewer, storm water and drinking water projects in communities across the Commonwealth.
